Getting down to the "nitty-gritty"

I have been in complete frustration over my body weight going on two years now. I haven't gained but I have not lost any either. I hear all the time the recommendation for macro nutrient ratios, little did I know that it was different for every single person's metabolic rate. So, I broke down ($12.43, at walmart, I know I'm cheap) and bought Jillian Michaels' new book, "Making the Cut." Wow, what an eye opener; turns out there are three different ways that we as people use food for fuel. What this means is that there are actually three different macro nutrient recommendations one could choose to follow, depending on how your body burns.

1. Fast oxidizers

Your ideal macro nutrient ratio is 20 percent carbs, 50 percent protein, 30 percent fat.

2. Slow oxidizers

Your ideal macro nutrient ratio is 60 percent carbs, 25 percent protein, and 15 percent fat.

3. Balanced oxidizers

Your ideal macro nutrient ratio is 40 percent carbs, 30 percent protein, and 30 percent fat.

There are pretty substantial differences between the three so it's no wonder I was not loosing any weight and often times I would find myself giving up. I mean there is only so much working out to do and not seeing results that it was frustrating.

Just Google Metabolic Typing. You'll find lots of interesting stuff about it. For instant I am a slow oxidizer, I googled slow oxidizer diets to see what google brought up, you'll be amazed. In Jillian Michaels book "Making the Cut" I found out why I was not loosing any weight, I was doing the total opposite than what the results from the test were. I was avoiding carbs and eating more protein.
